Fun Friday: Indestructables Giveaway

I am so excited to announce this giveaway! Meet Indestructables!

These books are AMAZING! These books are specially designed for babies. They are made of a paper-fabric type material that is, well, indestructable. The books are made for chewing, gumming, pulling and enjoying. They have bright and beautiful illustrations. I love that the pictures are simple and the backgrounds are simple as well. They allow the baby to focus on each page and are not overwhelming. There are no words to allow for creative story telling from parents and then later the child.

I recieved Flutter! Fly! to "test" with Karsie. The book is filled with great illustrations of creatures that fly. The eyes are large and captivating on each one. I handed the book to Karsie and she went to town...

She read the book... talking about each page. Then she tasted and chewed on the book and bent the book and pulled on the book... and it still resembles a book! I was astonished that with all the playing, the book held its shape and never tore. It held on to the bends, but because the paper/fabric is very resilient, it isn't apparent. These books are super slim and this one has taken residence in my purse as an easy grab-and-go entertainment for Karsie.

There are currently three titles available (Flutter! Fly!, Wiggle! March!, and Creep! Crawl!) but coming soon there will be more titles... there are going to be nursery rhymes set internationally... like Humpty Dumpty and the Great Wall of China, and Hickory Dickory Dock and Big Ben. How sweet is that! I am super excited to see the new books!

Fun Friday: Picky Sticky Giveaway

Introducing... Picky Sticky

Anyone who has followed my family blog (karsiegene.blogspot.com) has already met Picky Sticky. We use these awesome little stickers each month on the 17th to document our daughters growth.
We LOVE having a mini photo shoot each month and seeing how small the sticker is getting in comparison to our little girl. I also have a fun time picking out a special outfit to go with each sticker.

The idea is simple... a onesie and a sticker to show the progression of growth over a year. You stick the sticker on the onesie (or shirt), take a few pictures and then before you know it you have a years worth of cute little pictures that show just how big a difference a few pounds makes.

I love the variety of sticker packs you can choose from! The boy sets are super cute... and great colors.
There are a few boy/girl sets that have lots of fun background prints... these would look super on some plain colored onesies... yum!

The girl sets are ADORABLE... and I really have had a blast coordinating the sticker with the outfit. And of course... I had to share my own little model!! Just look at all that growth!


These stickers are a nice and easy way to keep track of your babies age as well... without having to time stamp your pictures!
There are even holiday or pregnancy stickers available... what fun to document your growing belly with cute stickers!!

Try It Out Tuesday: Homemade Baby Food Part 2

So... after a few weeks... I have the second half of the homemade baby food blog (and giveaway)!

I have had the honor and pleasure of reviewing the book "Super Baby Food" by Ruth Yaron.

This book has been a great resource for me as I am on the journey of feeding my kiddo! It is like the baby food bible. This one book is the ultimate resource for food safety, recipes, thrifty tips, and more! I was surprised by the wealth of information in this book that was not just about "baby" food. The book follows feeding from infancy through toddler... with a good number of recipes that would appeal to adults as well!

As a new mom, I am super appreciative of all the recipes and kitchen tips for making baby food... she goes in depth on batch cooking, freezing and storing techniques and even shopping tips for making baby food.

There are loads of great recipes... including how to make your own yogurt! Another recipe that I am finding useful (and cheaper than buying the store variety) is her Super Porridge recipes... AKA grain cereal. Yaron explains how to take "rice cereal" into a whole grain medley that can grow with your child all the way into adulthood. Her fruit and veggie recipes are great and simple.

The latter portion of the book is dedicated to really fun topics... like cake decorating, crafts to do with your child, money saving tips, time saving tips, silly/fun recipes and more.

I honestly keep this book with my baby food supplies for easy reference. It is a wealth of information and tips that I am glad to have.
