Makin' Stuff Monday: Board Book Scrapbook

So... I literally have gone crazy covering things in my house with cute paper... just ask my husband! He might be considering buying stock in Mod Podge with all the covering I have been doing lately :) I will come back to some Mod Podge projects in a couple weeks... but for now I thought I would give you a break and go a different direction.

Have you been in the scrapbook store or craft store and seen all the chipboard books around? They are super cute and all kinds of crazy shapes... and I like the idea... but I don't have time for crazy shapes... and really, I don't know what I would do with a teapot shaped board book. Call me old fashioned... but I like a rectangle or square scrapbook! And to top it off... they can be very expensive. I recently found a few in the dollar section... but they were those crazy shapes.

I have been getting board books from the dollar section for Karsie... and I grabbed a couple extra with the idea of turning them into mini scrapbooks! What a fun little Valentines gift!

Here is the process...

Cut the pages off the board book with a sharp knife or some sturdy scissors.

Using the adhesive of your choice, cover each page (front and back) with paper. I used a spray adhesive... but then to super stick the corners, I used a glue stick.

Punch holes on each page and set eyelets.

Decorate the pages of your book. (Sorry about the sideways pictures... I cannot figure out why it is doing that!)

Complete the book with two binder rings and some ribbon on the rings (make sure your eyelets are big enough for the rings... mine weren't so I had to use wire to hold the book together!

Enjoy your work... super easy, simple and quick scrapbooks! Yay!

I can't wait to try this! I have a round chip book I bought for $1... now I just have to figure out what theme I want it to be. You have so many clever ideas... I always look forward to what I get to see on your blog!

p.s. For Wednesdays... When you run out of other recipes to post, I'd like to put in a request for crock pot recipes. :)
