Makin' Stuff Monday: Puzzle Blocks

I'm Back!!!!

I realize that my own Karsie is WAY too young to apreciate these little puzzle blocks for all they are... but I am enjoying them in the mean time!!

These are a great quick craft and they are very inexpensive!

Tools:
pictures (I used cut-up magazine pages)
paper cutter
blocks (I used 1 inch blocks)
Mod Podge

I was thinking about this craft and I remembered I had some saved zoo magazines. However, you can use just about anything... old children's books, pictures (scanned and copied), children's drawings/paintings... anything that is paper and will stand up to the Mod Podge.

I created my puzzle in a 4 block square arrangement. Therefore, my pictures needed to be 2x2 squares. After finishing the project I have decided that for future block projects I will use larger blocks (2in perhaps) and use 9 blocks. Whatever you choose... cut your pictures according to the size of your finished puzzle square.

Then cut each picture into smaller block sized pieces (mine were 1x1).

Before gluing each side, I prepared my picture to double check the size. If I needed to do any trimming, I did it during this step.

Give each block a thin coat of Mod Podge and place your picture pieces on the block. As each side drys watch for bubbles and work them out if needed.

Repeat the gluing on each side until all six sides are done! Then coat the whole thing with Mod Podge and allow to dry (I gave it 3 full coats).

Now... can you solve your own puzzle!??!?!?
